Practice your drawing skills in this three-session series on Wednesdays, 10/3, 10/10, & 10/24, with artist Linda Capello. Participants will practice drawing a live model through gesture sketches and longer duration observation. All skill levels are welcome, ages 18+. Materials included.

LIGHT OF THE OCEAN will feature a dynamic installation of works by Francisco Alvarado-Juárez, New York-based American artist born in Honduras. Our two main galleries will be transformed into a magical marine environment with part of the floor covered with sand, seashells and other organic materials indigenous to the East End of Long Island.
The Hotel Baltimore used to be the swankiest place in town – now it has a date with the wrecking ball. The societal outcasts who call this place home are now facing eviction and must face a new uncertainty in an already uncertain future. This acclaimed play from Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lanford Wilson is filled with everyday humanity – unexpectedly intimate and moving. This performance will be a staged reading.
The basic materials you will need to assemble a mobile will be provided by Upsculpt including marine debris, however you will need to bring your own ingenuity, imagination and what ever you want to *upcycle! Actually there is practically no limit to the kind of material that can be used to make mobiles, as long as its not too heavy. We suggest picking up plastics from the shoreline!

Join North Fork chalk artist Kara Hoblin for the second session of making your own chalk creation inspired by something you would like to let go of. Students will work off their own small chalkboards that will be erased at the end of each session, and will add to a communal chalk drawing that will be ceremoniously wiped clean at “The Big Erase”, which will take place at the end of the Thursday, December 20th session with music and refreshments.
