Auditioning is an art form!
This week-long workshop for young artists will hone skills in both acting and singing in a fun and supportive environment. Campers will work on scenes, monologues, and songs, while gaining the confidence to nail that next audition! Learn tips on how to choose and approach material. Great for students who plan to audition for colleges or professionally, and also suited to any young artist who loves to perform.
*This camp will conclude with a showcase on Friday, August 3 at 5 PM.

About Jenna Mate:
Jenna is a director and performing arts coach who designed and ran a successful performing arts program in Los Angeles. Her students have gone on to work professionally in theater, television, and film. She has worked with numerous theaters both as a director and vocal coach, and she’s committed to fostering creativity, individuality, and confidence in young artists. Jenna holds a BFA in drama from Syracuse University, a Masters in Theatre Education from the University of Houston, and an MFA in Directing from Stony Brook University. Shes also trained with Lincoln Center Theatre Group, Steppenwolf, and RADA. Her original musical, ECO, was recently featured at the New York Musical Festival. Jenna believes in maximizing the gifts of each young artist, while encouraging them to develop new and exciting skills.
With Artist-in-Residence Andrea Cote, the public will participate in collaborative printmaking and video. Participants will come together over the course of two months in a series of movement and art-making workshops culminating in a performance and large-scale tapestry.
Curated by Paton Miller, the now fourth year of this popular exhibition continues to celebrate 29 new artists, honors the collectors who have supported them, and marks Southampton Arts Center as a home where the East End arts scene can continue to thrive.
