with Andrea Cote
Saturdays, October 14 and December 16 | 3-5 PM | Ages 16 + | $15 – Materials Included
This lively 2-hour drawing workshop is great for beginners and experienced artists alike. Working from a live model, students will gain a fuller understanding of the human body and its many possibilities for expression. Drawing elements such as line, form, value, gesture, and movement will be covered while experimenting with a range of techniques and materials. Students are invited to discover their unique signature approach. This is a great workshop to develop new skills and pave the way to further figurative study.
Expanding the field of visual tropes, methods and materials, the 23 female artists on view will offer an artistic spectrum that ranges from the sublime to the utilitarian, from expressionism to precision, and from humor to drama. Curated by Janet Goleas.
With Artist-in-Residence Andrea Cote, the public will participate in collaborative printmaking and video. Participants will come together over the course of two months in a series of movement and art-making workshops culminating in a performance and large-scale tapestry.
