Under the direction of its founder, Paul Schenly, Pianofest presents an international cast of talented young artists in a unique blend of public performance and music appreciation. Concerts include commentary about the performances and the music’s historical context. Come hear Pianofest’s prize-winning young artists in the great classical repertoire, and enjoy one of the great delights of summer on the East End!
Expanding the field of visual tropes, methods and materials, the 23 female artists on view will offer an artistic spectrum that ranges from the sublime to the utilitarian, from expressionism to precision, and from humor to drama. Curated by Janet Goleas.
With Artist-in-Residence Andrea Cote, the public will participate in collaborative printmaking and video. Participants will come together over the course of two months in a series of movement and art-making workshops culminating in a performance and large-scale tapestry.
