Join internationally renowned artist Alyssa Monks for this three hour intensive workshop designed to guide students toward constructing an accurate and expressive figure drawing, using efficient measuring techniques and sensitive line quality.
This class will provide an introduction to the art of suminagashi marbling, the oldest known form of marbling, which originated in Japan in the 10th-12th centuries. After learning the basic techniques from artist and 92Y instructor Sheryl Oppenheim, students will have ample time to create a number of their own suminagashi decorated papers
