We remain eager to come back together as a community but in doing so we need to ensure all of us remain healthy and safe. To that end, below you’ll find important information and guidelines for attending the film.

Please note social distancing requirements must be followed at all times. ONE public restroom will be open for the duration of our event. Concessions will be closed, but we encourage you to support local markets and restaurants if you are going to picnic in your car. They are all open and ready to serve you! Click HERE for a full list!

ARRIVAL

  • The Cooper’s Beach parking Lot (268 Meadow Lane, Southampton) will open at 6:30 PM and the film presentation will begin promptly at 8:30 PM.
  • Parking is first-come first-served and general admission. Cars will not be let in prior to 6:30 PM.
  • Have your printed confirmation in the driver’s side windshield or on the screen of your phone to show the attendant. If you are not able to do this. There will be a check-in list if this isn’t possible.
  • Parking attendants will be on hand to safely guide you to the next available spot. Large or tall vehicles will be guided to park on the sides or back of the lot, and only those along the outermost lanes will have the option to park backwards, so please indicate on arrival if that is your intention. NOTE that those backwards spaces will be first come first served – no exceptions.
  • Donations of non-perishables for Heart of the Hamptons can be dropped in clearly marked bins as you approach the parking lot from each direction.
  • No cars will be admitted after the lot is closed.

ENJOYING THE FILM

  • Once parked, guests are asked to stay inside the vehicle at all times. If outside your vehicle, guests must wear face masks and adhere to social distancing practices – stay at least 6 feet away from other persons.
  • Guests will not be permitted to sit in lawn chairs outside of their vehicles.
  • Masks will be provided upon request.
  • Guests are expected to take away any trash brought in or created during the film screening. Think of it like camping.
  • The film’s audio can be heard on your car radio at 89.5 FM. If your car is not equipped with a radio, we recommend bringing one. You cannot tune into the signal with a smartphone.
  • No engine idling. Since we park cars closely together, engine exhaust will affect the safety and well-being of others. You may start your engine periodically to keep the battery fresh, but for no more than one minute.
  • In the event of rain or emergency weather condition, please shelter in your car. Cars will not be allowed to exit the lot until it is safe to do so, and only under the direction of staff.

DEPARTING

  • Parking attendants will assist in clearing the lot once the film ends. Please wait until directed to leave. Our goal is a safe and orderly exit.
  • Please be patient.  Follow parking staff instructions and please move slowly when exiting.

Southampton Arts Center is excited to announce that they will kick off Memorial Day weekend with a first-rate drive-in movie experience at Coopers Beach in Southampton Village. Now that Governor Andrew Cuomo has endorsed drive-ins as an acceptable form of public entertainment, SAC acted swiftly to organize this special event celebrating the unofficial start of summer. At sundown on Sunday, May 24, approximately 8:30 PM, SAC will present the 1981 Steven Spielberg classic Raiders of the Lost Ark, made possible by the generosity of Simone and David Levinson. Please note that space is limited and advance reservations are required to ensure safe, contactless entry.

This event will also serve as a Food Drive benefiting Heart of the Hamptons. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate in support of the local food bank.

(1981 | PG | 115 min.)
From Director Steven Spielberg, intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) tries to beat a band of Nazis to a unique religious relic which is central to their plans for world domination. Battling against a snake phobia and a vengeful ex-girlfriend, Indiana Jones is in constant peril, making hair’s-breadth escapes at every turn in this celebration of the innocent adventure movies of an earlier era.

The Cooper’s Beach parking lot (268 Meadow Lane) will open at 6:30 PM with the film beginning at sundown, approximately 8:30 PM. Admission is $50 per car. Attendees will be expected to stay in their cars and follow physical distancing guidelines. The audio will be accessed on the FM dial. Advance reservations required.

Contactless Entry: Attendees must post a printout of their confirmation and put it in their car window or have it on the screen of their mobile phone on arrival. Advance reservations are required for admittance.

Many local restaurants are open for take-out. Save yourself the time of making your own car picnic and show your support for one of these village establishments instead. Give them a call and place an order on your way to the beach.
