Zoom Bedtime Stories: Vampirina Ballerina

with Author Anne Marie Pace

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 | 7:30 PM EST | FREE – Click HERE to Register!

Get the kids tucked into bed and join us on Zoom for this special session of bedtime stories read by the authors themselves.

This first session comes just in time for Halloween with Vampirina Ballerina!

Oh, to be a ballerina! It’s a challenge for any little girl, but even more so if you happen to be a vampire like Vampirina. First of all, you have to find a class that meets at night. Then you have to figure out how to perfect your form when you can’t see yourself in the mirror? And then there’s wearing pink (not the most flattering of colors if you happen to be undead) and that nagging urge to take a little nip out of the other dancers. And worse of all… STAGE FRIGHT!!!

In spite of the adage to write what you know, Anne Marie Pace has never been a vampire, a bear, a ballerina, or a sledding pig. She is the author of a number of published and upcoming picture books, including NEVER EVER TALK TO STRANGERS and A TEACHER FOR BEAR, both published by Scholastic Book Clubs; the VAMPIRINA BALLERINA series, illustrated by LeUyen Pham, published by Disney-Hyperion, which has been adapted into the Emmy-nominated hit television series VAMPIRINA from Disney Junior; PIGLOO, illustrated by Lorna Hussey, published by Henry Holt; GROUNDHUG DAY, illustrated by Christopher Denise (Disney-Hyperion, 2017); and BUSY-EYED DAY, illustrated by Frann Preston-Gannon (Beach Lane Books, 2018). Someday, she hopes to write books about what she does know: whistling, baking blue-ribbon-winning chocolate chip cookies, and schlepping kids around in a minivan, if she can find a way to make any of that interesting. Her newest book is SUNNY’S TOW TRUCK SAVES THE DAY (Abrams, 2019). She lives with her family in Virginia. (Source: Amazon)

2020 PATRONS CIRCLE

12:00 am, Friday Dec 31

As much as we look forward to spending time with you at our annual SummerFest celebration and gala, current government restrictions prohibit us from gathering in large groups. This year calls for a new approach. As such, we are taking this moment to honor, recognize and thank SAC’s most cherished and loyal friends by introducing our 2020 Patrons Circle. In lieu of supporting our annual Summerfest Gala, we invite past SummerFest supporter and longtime friends of SAC to join our new 2020 Patrons Circle. Your contribution will allow us to continue SAC’s year-round programming and serve as a critical economic driver that will lead this community out of these unsure times. Additionally, in return for your support or $10,000 or above, you will receive: - Two or Four seats to an intimate Appreciation Dinner to be held on Friday, August 21 in SAC’s Caesar Garden ($10,000/$25,000) - Recognition on summer 2020 Patrons Circle Wall inside SAC’s front gallery - Free admission to all SAC events this summer - A private tour of SAC’s Summer Exhibition 2020 VISION, in partnership with the New York Academy of Arts - Satisfaction in knowing that your contribution will significantly support this organization and our community during these challenging times
