Join Larissa Rhodes, producer of the new hit film, The Social Dilemma in conversation with Josh Golin and Jean Rogers Campaign for Commercial-Free Childhood. Featuring former Facebook, Google, and Twitter employees, The Social Dilemma reveals how the business model for digital media exacerbates some of the most pressing problems we face today, including misinformation, polarization, and a host of problems related to social media overuse. Not surprisingly, children and young people are most susceptible to the techniques social media companies use to keep us endlessly scrolling and posting.
Larissa, Jean and Josh will share clips from the film and discuss what we can do — as families, communities, and a society – to keep digital media from interfering with children’s healthy development.
While it is recommended that attendees watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix prior to the December 9th discussion, it is not necessary.
