Joel Sartore Book Signing in the PHOTO ARK Galleries

National Geographic PHOTO ARK creator Joel Sartore returns to SAC! The world-renowned wildlife photographer will be signing his books in the galleries on Saturday, August 24 from 2-3 PM.

You can bring your own books or Photo Ark ($35), Birds of the Photo Ark ($30) and Animal Ark Children’s Book ($16) will be available for purchase, first come first served.

THIS JUST IN…Southampton Arts Center will be the VERY FIRST to get Joel Sartore’s newest book THE PHOTO ARK: VANISHING, which is released to the public on September 10. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase  at $40.

THIS JUST IN…Joel Sartore, the world-renowned wildlife photographer, conservationist, and creator of the PHOTO ARK returns to SAC for an encore presentation of his not-to-be missed illustrated talk which inspired SAC and ICP to present the exhibition on view.

Photo Ark Gallery Tour with Quogue Wildlife Refuge & Animal Ambassdors

Join us for one final tour of National Geographic Photo Ark by Joel Satore with live animals!

One of Quogue Wildlife Refuge’s experts will bring along some of their animal ambassadors and will lead a tour focusing on the species living at the Quogue center. Get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures and learn about what makes them so special and vital to our ecosystem.

RACONTEURS – An Evening of Storytelling: “Secrets”

After a successful debut in May, Southampton Arts Center will once again present the popular Raconteurs Storytelling Evening, this time with the theme of “Secrets”.  Each participant will tell a true story about a secret of their own. These short and sweet tales are sure to make you laugh and cry.

September Raconteurs include Marissa Fallon Friedes, Sima Freierman, Allan Kronzek, Greg Monske, Mickey Paraskevas, Stefanie Sacks, and Brenda Simmons.

POSTPONED: Raconteurs – An Evening of Storytelling

After sharing “secrets”, Southampton Arts Center will once again present the popular Raconteurs Storytelling Evening, this time with the theme of “Lies” in February 2020.  Each participant will tell a true story about a lie they told our were somehow part of. Professor Alan Calder, Stony Brook University Dept. of Physics & Astronomy, will discuss whether Betelgeuse, the star in Orion’s shoulder, will become a Type 1a supernovae and what we know about such events. Weather permitting, celestial observing through telescopes may follow.
