Mountainfilm on Tour Southampton Returns to Southampton Arts Center

Mountainfilm on Tour Southampton brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado. Returning to Southampton Arts Center [SAC – southamptonartscenter.org] on Sunday, August 28, the festival will feature films that explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Prior to the screenings, two of the directors, Jeremy Dennis, Ma’s House, and Stephen Michael Simon, Bacon ‘n’ Laces, will participate in a Q&A discussion moderated by Elyn Kronemeyer. Showing on SAC’s West Lawn, gates open at 7:30 p.m. and screenings will begin at dusk. For more information and tickets, visit southamptonartscenter.org/film.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Southampton is hosted by Elyn and Jeff Kronemeyer in partnership with Dr. Paula Angelone, Gerald Rosengarten, and Brown Harris Stevens. “I have been organizing Mountainfilm on Tour Southampton for eight years, which brings exciting and thought-provoking films to the East End,” Elyn Kronemeyer shares. “Southampton Arts Center believes in enriching our community through the arts. While hosting an inspiring collection of films, the show is also an opportunity to support Film @ SAC. I’m thrilled to bring this collection of films, which highlights stories around the world, including one very close to home, to our community.”

This year’s films include American Scar, directed by Daniel Lombroso, Bacon ‘n’ Laces, directed by Stephen Michael Simon, Caliefah, directed by Shiouwen Hong, Janwaar, directed by Danny Schmidt, Stranger at the Gate, directed by Joshua Seftel, Ma’s House, directed by Jeremy Dennis, and Write Your Line, directed by Augey Marc and Collet Andy.

Tickets are free for SAC members and $10 for non-members. Tickets are available for purchase in advance at southamptonartscenter.org/film. As this event takes place outdoors, guests are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs and blankets.
