EAST END COLLECTED 8

CURATED BY PATON MILLER + CHRISTINA M. STRASSFIELD

February 1, 2025 - May 17, 2025

EAST END COLLECTED returns for Southampton Arts Center for its 8th iteration. This exhibition was conceived and curated by Paton Miller for the first seven exhibitions.  For the first time this year, the exhibition will be co-curated with  Paton Miller and  Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Executive Director, Southampton Arts Center. This exhibition reflects the artist’s and director’s vision of the East End as an ideal environment to create work. In this eighth iteration of the popular exhibition, the curators continue to find artists whose work has not been showcased in this exhibition before, thus allowing them to exhibit their work and become part of the illustrious—history of artists in the Hamptons. There is no set theme for the exhibition except for trying to showcase an exceptionally talented group of artists.  The chosen artists will encompass various media, including paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, and glass fusion.  Some artists have been in the community for decades, while others are relatively newcomers.  It is a testament to the creative energy and camaraderie that the art community on Long Island continues to thrive.  We are delighted that all artists are full-time residents of Suffolk County.

We will organize a series of panel discussions with the artists and guided tours with the curators to accompany the exhibition, enhancing and educating the visitors' experience. Wall text labels with the artists’ statements and brief biographies will also increase visitors’ appreciation of the works on display.
